How can I benefit from private yoga sessions?
| What is the Purpose and Approach of Private Sessions?
Developmental The client’s goal is to develop strength and stability in a safe environment with individual attention. This could mean private instruction on learning specific yoga postures, strengthening a specific area of the body and gaining flexibility or strength. Preventative The client’s goal is to learn how to use the tools of yoga to prevent injuries or future physical or emotional problems. Your teacher or therapist will assess your unique structure and give you feedback on which postures will help prevent conditions in the future, and advise you on which postures should be avoided. Therapeutic The client’s goal is to gain strength and mobility and to reduce pain as a result of an injury or condition. The teacher or therapist will assess current injuries or conditions and advise on which postures and practices will increase range of motion, increase circulation to vital areas, create new movement patterns, give the client confidence, and improve the quality of life. Spiritual The client’s goal is to experience a deeper sense of spirituality and a connection to Something Greater than oneself. The teacher or therapist will guide the client in the use of a number of elements, such as relaxation, sound, hand postures, meditation, and more. |
